The HRC held it's 40th Anniversary reception on November 6, 2003 in the Urban County Government Center Ballroom. The reception was held to honor the dedicated people responsible for starting 40 years of civil rights work in the Lexington community. Those who played an integral role in forming the Lexington Commission on Human Rights, one of the first local civil rights enforcement agencies in the South, were recognized in a short presentation during the reception.
