The purpose of this web site is to provide you with answers to questions that you may have about the Human Rights Commission, our procedures and our roles within Lexington-Fayette County, Kentucky.  Our primary functions are to investigate complaints of discrimination, monitor hate and bias incidents in the community, and provide outreach and education to promote intergroup relations.

Diversity Leadership Summit

The Diversity Leadership Summit was held on Monday, March 24, 2008 at the Radisson Plaza Hotel.  Approximately 100 people attended the Summit.  To view a summary of the Summit, please click here.

 

2008 Quad State Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity Conference to be postponed

The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Human Rights Commission has been selected to host the 2008 Quad State Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity Conference.  The Conference was originally scheduled for March 24 - 26, 2008.  However, due to scheduling conflicts, the conference will be postponed until further notice.  More information will be posted as details are finalized.  If you would like to be added to the mailing list to receive information regarding the conference, please click here.

Outstanding Achievement in Fair Housing Award

The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Human Rights Commission is sponsoring the Outstanding Achievement in Fair Housing Award to recognize individuals and/or organizations that have shown exemplary performances in fair housing practices. These individuals and organizations have profoundly impacted the way that fair housing is conducted over the course of their entire lifetime or who have made significant contributions that support the spirit and letter of Fair Housing Laws which they have demonstrated through words, deeds, business policies, or other means.
