Former U.S. Representative Reverend Dr. Floyd H. Flake will speak on “Faith Based Action: Promoting Fair Housing and Community Development” at the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Human Rights Commission’s Seventh Annual Fair Housing Luncheon to be held Tuesday, April 3 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Lexington. The Luncheon is in celebration of April as Fair Housing Month.

Rev. Flake is the Senior Pastor of the 12,000 member Allen African Methodist Episcopal Church in Jamaica, Queens New York and one of the nation’s foremost community faith-based ministries.

In addition, the Commission will present awards to students who participated in the Harrison Elementary School Fair Housing Cultural Diversity Program. Awards will also be presented to the winners of the Ellis Wilson Fair Housing Poster Contest, sponsored by the Fayette County Education Association, Lexington Fair Housing Council and Bluegrass Women’s Political Caucus.

Several community groups will display information on various housing programs at the Housing Information Station, available to attendees for information gathering and interaction prior to the luncheon from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
